my dad’s a journalist for animal related magazines/newspapers and he does a lot of work on “dangerous” dog laws so I am all very aware of how true it is that it’s the owners at fault, not the dogs.

I had a rottweiler and a pitbull. Both were beaten and abused as pups but our family gave them a loving home and as they grew older they never barked, growled, snapped, jumped at or snarled at anyone. Those dogs loved being around people. In 2007 a woman poured a corrosive substance on my rottweiler’s face as a means of self defense when he got out and roamed the street. In return he bit her hand, the hand that held the canister of corrosive liquid. The city of Hayward in California decided to show a no tolerance policy to uphold their “vicious animal” law and put BOTH of them down. People are evil, animals aren’t. RIP Kona and Kujo. I miss you both so much. People fucking blow.
